Damn YouTube for not having videos I find important. I cannot find the version of this song that I want, and, hell, I cannot even find a version of this song by the original artists (The Kinks). Still, this cover clearly enunciates the words, and that's worth something:
For a period in the late 90's, the Kinks toured a live version of this song with a different refrain that is much more powerful, and I have memorized:
"And I don't want to walk about
like everybody else.
And I don't want to live my life
like everybody else.
And I don't want to be destroyed
like everybody else.'
'Cause I'm not like everybody else."
Now, I must damn YouTube for disabling embedding on the legitimate video for this song!
(I know nothing of the video game involved, but the pictures are, indeed, pretty!) And if I DO go crazy (again), will you still call me Superman?
Last, but not least, another song that sends absolute shivers down my spine . . .
Perhaps the combination is only powerful to me, but the magic I evoked by combining these songs was enough to resurrect the dead.
Yes, silly readers, I'm speaking metaphorically, but, damn, these three songs touch me so deeply . . .
Peace, and may you always have the courage and strength to face down every demon.
